life in 2018

With the holidays in the past and the dark nights still around, getting back into a routine has been exhausting and a bit of a drag. Everyone on social media is talking about their new year goals and predictions and I’ve just been sitting back with my feet up eating chocolate and playing Candy Crush and now here we are, at the end of January and already it feels like the holidays were a million years away.

Thinking ahead to 2018, at the end of last year I bought my first diary since leaving school with the intention that I was going to start journalling my life and still I’ve not added anything into it, no goals, no special events apart from my family holiday in July.

So why the laziness and lack of goals for 2018? Well, I’m kind of over planning ahead for things I want to do and places I want to go. In my head I know that I’ll eventually reach my goals and visit the places I’ve always wanted to go to, so to tell the world and keep a note of it is only adding more things on my to do list. For now and this year life will be about no plans and whatever happens happens. I always find my best and most memorable fun days are the ones I didn’t plan.

So if like me you haven’t set a 2018 goal plan don’t feel to bad, instead embrace the days ahead with positivity and remember, nothing has to be perfect, just the best you can do and the best you can be. So instead of planning and being disappointed you haven’t reached that goal just remember there always the next day.
