Right in the heart of Glasgow’s Buchanan Street, you will find many restaurants and one of the newest to fall into the lap of this metropolitan city is Vapiano. This lively friendly Italian restaurant is spacious clean and best of all full of friendly staff who are at hand to guide you through their concept of how to order and pay.
So here is a breakdown of how it works. When you arrive you are greeted at reception and given a card that you use to order your food and drink. The card stores the data of your order and once you’re finished you take it back to reception on your way out to scan your card and pay.
When ordering your chef will ask you if you want any extras like chilli or garlic. Having the food cooked in front of you with fresh ingredients is a fantastic idea and the chefs are more than happy to tweak your dish to suit your taste. The food is absolutely delicious and the portions are huge, in fact for me one portion would feed two people. Vapiano’s concept is to self order but there are plenty of staff on hand to help and they will also take your order for you.
The menu has many dishes to choose from, if you’re a vegan, a vegetarian or a carnivore, there is something for everyone. Halal options are also available. The experience I had at Vapiano Glasgow was all in all a very good one. Ordering your own food is fun and being able to talk to your chef directly makes for an even better dining experience. For me what makes or breaks a dining experience is the service, ok the food is the main part of it but roll them both together and you have the perfect recipe for a great night out.
