Nestled away on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland lies one of Scotland’s and indeed the UK’s finest beauty producers of Organic Natural skin care.
Being a lover of skincare, it was only natural I would be curious about trying one of Scotland’s best loved brands. Ishga collect wild seaweed from the Atlantic Ocean off the north west coast of Scotland to create and bring you the finest products.
ORGANIC SEAWEED
Seaweed is a natural resource that grows in abundance in the pure unpolluted coastal waters of the Hebridean Islands of Scotland. It has been used for centuries for its natural healing and therapeutic properties and is known to contain a balanced combination of vitamins, minerals, trace elements, amino acids, and anti-oxidants that are considered essential for maintaining healthy and youthful skin.
Ishga Invigorating Body Oil
At first you are hit with a zesty aroma, a combination of jojoba, thistle and almond oils infused with the calming scent of lavender, rose geranium, lemongrass and juniper berry. Apply this to wet skin straight after your bath or shower to allow the oil to lock in water giving you more hydration to the skin while leaving your skin scented and invigoratingly soft. The list of ingredients in this body oil can be found Here . The oil is full of antioxidant ingredients that will help nourish and even heal the skin. After about 10 minutes the calming aromas of this oil start to appear leaving you feeling rested and your skin soft and silky to the touch. This body oil comes in a 100ml tube with a gentle pump that will allow for a small amount to come out so you won’t be wasting any product. Three pumps are enough to cover your body.
Ishga Nourishing Face Oil
Face oils are one of those products that everyone asks when should be applied? There are two ways depending on your skin care routine. You can apply face oil in the morning or evening, it’s really just personal choice. If you apply face oil straight after your cleansing routine the oil will absorb straight into the skin, if you apply it after your moisturiser (or serum then moisturiser) it will seal in everything you applied before the oil. The Ishga Nourishing Face Oil can be used both ways before or after moisturiser. I personally find this nourishing organic face oil which is packed with essential fatty acids and antioxidants to be the only face oil in my collection I can rely on to nourish and hydrate my skin straight after cleansing without the need for serum or face cream. Occasionally I do use a face cream before using this face oil but I find that it’s really enough just on it’s own. The list of ingredients can be found here
Ishga Anti-Oxidant Marine Cream
I have to confess I’m absolutely in love with this face cream. You only need a tiny amount to cover your face because this cream is potent and potent in the best possible format for your skincare needs. The list of ingredients are a skincare addict’s dream not to mention it’s ideal for all skin types. This Marine face cream is packed with antioxidant organic ingredients including apricot kernel, macadamia and thistle oil amongst others listed Here and they are all combined together with Hebridean seaweed and natural spring water from the Hebridean island of Lewis. Scottish water is very pure, it is free of high levels of calcium and other contaminants and is a perfect companion to naturally enhance the caring properties of this cream. The natural ingredients in this face cream give it a unique zesty aroma. Gently rub this between your fingers and cup your hands bringing them up to your face, close your eyes and gently breath in the aroma then exhale while applying the cream over your face.
Isga Hebridean Sea Salt Scrub
This was one of the first Ishga skin care products I ever used, it was gifted to me in a goodie bag at an event I attended last year. You can see from the photo it’s almost finished! I remember unscrewing the cap and just being hit by the beautiful Ishga Skincare signature scent and from that moment I knew I was going to have a really special relationship with this brand! This salt scrub is just bursting with pure and natural ingredients the organic sea salt alone contains over sixty naturally occurring elements which is hand harvested and then blended with Ishga’s natural blend of jojoba, thistle and almond oils amongst a few other ingredients found Here making this one of the loveliest and kindest to your skin body scrubs Scotland has ever produced.
All products were gifted to me way back in early January 2019. The review and opinions are all my own. I was never asked to write post or promote any of these products. It is my own passion and excitement for this brand that has pushed me back into writing my first blog in 2019.
Recently I have been concentrating on my Youtube channel the past few months and I found myself with less and less time to write. The Ishga brand has given me back my drive to continue sharing my favourite products on my blog website.
